Bachelor of Technology (Podiatry)
Granville May graduated with a Bachelor of Technology in Podiatry from the University of Johannesburg in South Africa in 2000. Since graduating, Granville has had the privilege of practicing and gaining experience in 3 countries including practicing in his hometown of Cape Town as well as in Cambridge, UK. More recently, Granville and his family have made a new home in sunny Queensland where he has been enjoying private practice in the beautiful Samford Village.
Granville’s clinical focus has been musculoskeletal and sports injuries including foot, ankle and knee pain. Having been a keen participant and follower of football throughout his life, Granville understands football specific injuries and has refined his treatment skills in this area to include foot mobilization therapy, custom foot orthoses for sporting footwear, exercise prescription for injury rehabilitation and technical footwear knowledge. Granville enjoys playing golf and following the rugby union and has been fortunate to be involved in the treatment of some of the Super Rugby players in Cape Town.
Experience and Education
Granville has enjoyed a long podiatry career working in a wide variety of clinical areas. He is considered to have excellent skills in ingrown toenail surgery, having performed many successful procedures over a long period of time.
Granville is committed to ongoing continuous education, regularly attending seminars and training in advanced treatment methods, to provide his patients with the best possible podiatric care.
In 2018, Granville completed his training in Dry Needling (or Western acupuncture) for the lower limb and incorporates this therapy when treating musculoskeletal pain or injuries.
