Common and painful conditions
Ingrown toenails are a common, painful condition that frequently affects children and adolescents. It occurs when skin on the side of a nail grows over the edge of the nail, or when the nail itself grows into the skin.
Plantar warts, or verrucae, are benign skin lesions found on the soles of the feet, caused by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), which enters your body through tiny cuts, cracks or breaks in your skin. Plantar warts are rarely a serious health concern, but they may be bothersome, unsightly or painful, and they can also be resistant to treatment.
