Using a device called a VHO-Osthold Brace® This applies a slight force to the ingrown toenail to lift it away from inflamed tissues and set it on course to grow in a healthier direction. Foot Health Clinic were the first to introduce VHO ingrown toenail bracing to Australia in 2006.

Ingrown Toenail Surgery
Ingrown toenail surgery is performed under local anaesthetic and is a partial nail excision and chemical matrixectomy. The ingrown portion of the toenail is removed together with the corresponding portion of nail root, and the application of a chemical to prevent that portion of the toenail from regrowing. The procedure takes approximately one hour.
