Sore Heels?? Soccer Season Is Here!

With soccer season on its way, many parents will have to watch their children for symptoms of Sever’s disease.

Sever’s disease is a painful condition of the heel in kids, caused by inflammation at the growth plate adjacent to the Achilles tendon.  It is the most common foot problem in active children aged 8 to 12 years old and is common among children involved in soccer, football and netball, but can affect children involved in any running or jumping sports.

Heel pain solutions can range from a change in soccer boots, to heel raises placed in the shoes, or sometimes simple flexibility exercises.

If your child starts to complain about heel pain this soccer season, make a time to see our Podiatrists for a foot check-up for fast, effective relief.

We love helping kids to stay healthy, active and pain-free!
